CAT: Lesson - Grammar - Roman Rhetoric Review

Roman Rhetoric Review

Rhetoric is the art of making speeches. The goal is to persuade an audience to a particular perspective, whether trying to convince a political body, like the senate, or attempting to sway a jury to convict a criminal. Romans and Cicero in particular found rhetoric to be one of the most important things to learn, and had a set of methods that they used consistently to win their argument.

Be sure to go back over the material from the module before continuing in the course. In particular, make sure you are comfortable with the definitions of the various parts of a speech and the devices used within those speeches.
