To help you prepare for the Tree of Life growth, you will need to water your seed after you plant. It water is an important part of life, and the water molecule itself is very unique as you have learned in previous modules.

Badge Description

Students will learn about the cell’s energy source, ATP, and how it relates to living organisms. Students will learn the steps of cell respiration and photosynthesis, as well as how these processes relate to living things.

You will earn the Water Badge once you have successfully earned a 70% for all of the above requirements.

*If you are unhappy with your score on the assignment you chose, then you are allowed to go back and complete the alternative choice as long as it is before the due date. If you complete the alternative assignment past the deadline then late penalties will be applied.

Assignment

Criteria

Energy Drink Discussion

Students will analyze an energy drink advertisement and apply their knowledge on the roles of photosynthesis and respiration in the flow of energy within the cell to produce arguments on a discussion board.

Who Needs Who? Discussion

Students will analyze a writing prompt whether animals need plants or plants need animals to survive, and apply their knowledge on the roles of photosynthesis and respiration in the flow of energy within the cell to produce arguments on a discussion board.

Review Quiz

Students will be assessed over the explanation of how the roles of photosynthesis and respiration in the cycling of matter and flow of energy within an ecosystem by a multiple choice style questions to prepare them for the module final assessment.

Study Guide

Students will be assessed over the explanation of how the roles of photosynthesis and respiration in the cycling of matter and flow of energy within an ecosystem by completing short answer and fill in the blank questions to prepare them for the module final assessment.

Photosynthesis Virtual Lab

Students will develop and use models to analyze the cycling of matter and flow of energy within ecosystems through the processes of photosynthesis in a virtual lab exploration.

Nutrient Interactive Activity

Students will complete a card interactive activity that simulates the cycling of matter and flow of energy within an ecosystem through the processes of photosynthesis and respiration.

Cell Energy Test

Students will be assessed over all the standards covered in the module which include the explanation of how the roles of photosynthesis and respiration in the cycling of matter and flow of energy within an ecosystem by a multiple choice style questions.

Alien Recipe Project

Students will be assessed over all the standards covered in the module which include the explanation of how the roles of photosynthesis and respiration in the cycling of matter and flow of energy within an ecosystem by completing a project which instructs the student to write a step by step recipe of the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration and systems importance to recycling nutrients in the ecosystem.
