AUG - Designing Your Own AR Lesson
Designing Your Own AR Lesson
It's time to design an augmented reality experience into a location-based game, so this lesson is more of an assignment, no new information.
Based on what you have learned about creating assets, both 2D and 3D, you need to design your own augmented reality, location-based game.
There are some amazing examples that you can evaluate just by reading, you neither need to download them nor play them. Pokemon GO and Ingress are amazing examples. A simpler example, developed by MIT, is called TaleBlazer. It is a game with a storyline that lets people explore the MIT campus, but if you aren't near the campus you can still play by clicking on a map.
Feel free to review other AR games online for their concept. Also, see the sidebar about Types of Phone Sensors for reference. You do NOT have to make the game, you are designing a concept for an AR game, so let your imagination think big!
