Evaluating Games Lesson

Let's Play Games ImageIf you're going to learn about games we should probably start by playing some games! You might already play some, but we should probably start off by playing the same games. That would give us something to talk about, a reference point for many of our discussions. We are going to start by playing a game called Zelda. This is a game that's over 30 years old and is considered one of the classic games of all time. Notice the art in the game. Notice the game play itself: what buttons do you press, or what buttons do you use, as well as what is the way you can play well? What is the point of the game? How can you be successful in this game? Be ready to talk about what you see in the game with other students in the class regarding these aspects. After playing Zelda, play Tetris on any device or by using the link in the sidebar. Tetris is also on the list of most influential games EVER. Look at it for the same topics: the goal of the game, how to play, the graphics, and anything else you might notice.
