📘 Student Instructions: eText

The eText platform has changed, so GaVS is working on revising these instructions. If you encounter problems accessing the eText, please send me a few screenshots of your progress throughout these steps. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

 

Your Digital Textbook (eText)

Textbook: 

You've been issued a digital textbook (eText) for this course. We hope you take advantage of the interactive content and personalized feedback that your eText offers you as a resource for this virtual course. 

• AP Statistics Students: You will use your eText to complete required chapter readings and exercises.  You will write down your answers in your notebook and keep that handy to upload to the chapter exercises dropbox, if required by your teacher.  You are encouraged to use your eText to develop your understanding of course topics and to complete extra practice and activities.

 

📘 Step 1: eText Registration

Follow the instructions below to access/use your eText.  

1. Locate the eText module in your course.  Click on Student Registration - Start Here. 

2. Click to open the registration link and follow the instructions to register your name with the eText. 

3. When prompted, use your registered GaVirtual account First Name, Last Name, and email. NOTE: Only students (not parents or other observers) who register with their assigned @gavirtualschool email addresses are permitted eText accounts. All other users/accounts will be removed. 

4. Review and agree to the Terms of Use and End User Agreement.

5. Click YES to enter the course.  

[If you are prompted for your district name, locate and select Georgia Virtual School from the list.]

6. Congrats! Your enrollment is complete.  You will not need to go through this process again when accessing any eText links in the course.

📘 Step 2: Access Your eText

Access your textbook by computer or Canvas Student App Links to an external site. by clicking on Macmillian Learning in the course navigation, then select Achieve, then select E-Book.

• Optimal use of your eText requires the Chrome Browser.
• eText is only accessible from within your GaVirtual course (computer or Canvas Student App). Links to an external site.

OR you can go through the Modules and select Achieve E-Book and then Load Achieve E-Book in a new window.

❓My eText pages are not loading or giving me an error message. 

1. 1. Open your e-book in another browser, preferably Google Chrome
   2. Enable cookies in your web browser Links to an external site.
   3. Clear your browser cache and cookies Links to an external site.
   4. Disable any browser extensions
   5. Make sure you have a strong internet connection

 

❓My account login credentials are not allowing me to register.

Submit a ticket to the GaVirtual Helpdesk. Links to an external site. Include your browser and operating system (example: Mac + Chrome) as well as the First name, Last name, and email address you attempted to use.

 

❓Will I be able to read my eText Offline while I am traveling or won't have access to the internet?

Registered users can download an e-book to read offline on a computer or mobile device.
