The death of Marcellus caused a great deal of turmoil within the imperial household. Pseudolus, and his ward, Cleopatra Selene, were both convinced that the death was unnatural. As they talked, Pseudolus pridefully watched the clever girl; how far they had both come since they arrived in Rome. Pseudolus interrupted the conversation with a question for Selene: "Do you remember when we arrived in Rome? " Selene responded, "How could I forget! I can still feel the chains on my wrists…"

Key Terms
- Noun- A noun is traditionally defined as a person, place or thing. In Latin a noun is a word that uses a set of case endings and has three characteristics, which are case, number and gender.
- Gender - masculine, feminine or neuter
- Number - singular or plural
- Case - how a noun or pronoun is being used in a sentence
- Declension - a group of nouns. The declension number, 1st-5th, is determined by the genitive ending
- Locative Case - a case used to describe position with names of cities or towns, small islands and certain special nouns like domus, rus and humus.
- Triumph - a large scale military celebration after a successful conquest
- Vir Triumphalis - the man of triumph, later called the triumphator. This was the general or emperor who was the focus of the triumph.
- Toga Picta - purple and gold toga worn by the vir triumphalis
- Memento Mori - a reminder of mortality
- Praenomen – a first name given to Roman men
- Nomen – second name. A family or clan name
- Cognomen – Originally a nickname or honorific title. Passed on from father to son, so it became a way to designate parts of a larger family.
