Brevis ipsa vita est sed malis fit longior.
Life itself is short but is made longer by misfortunes.
Publilius Syrus (Sententiae, line 79)

Pseudolus came very close to disaster by talking with such an important man's slave. However, despite his main suspect being removed from the picture, the new information about Marcellus being poisoned has taken Pseudolus in all new directions. Poisoners in Rome tended most frequently to be women, but of the various women on Pseudolus' suspect list, did any of them make sense? Meanwhile, Marcellus' funeral procession has taken place. Selene participated in the ceremony - what news did she bring back to Pseudolus?
