Capstone Project Introduction
Capstone Project Introduction
A Capstone Project is an Inquiry-Based Student Interest, multi-step Project-Based Learning, or Real-World Solution Project. This course will have one Capstone project, with several checkpoints. Pay close attention throughout the course for each checkpoint.
Capstone Project: The Big Idea
The theme of this capstone project is Passion. A good first question to ask when seeking a topic for your project is: why did you decide to take Latin in the first place? Was it popular culture (movies or books with mythological themes)? Was it a desire to more deeply explore a mysterious ancient language? Are you fascinated by the history of the ancient world, seeking to understand how people "used to do things"?
You will be given time through this semester to address your interests - this is a process, so do not worry that this is something you'll have to create overnight! Your instructor will guide you through the process from start to end and by the time you submit your final product, it will be something that reflects your interests and personal learning.
Difference between AB, A and B
Please note: you will be working on this Project throughout this course by completing checkpoint assignments which will lead you to a final product. Each checkpoint assignment will allow you to work on and submit a portion of the project. What you get done this semester is based on what course you are in.
- Students in Latin IIAB: you will complete the full project this semester.
- Students in Latin IIA: you will not complete the full project this semester. Because of this, you must save your project somewhere that you can access it in Latin IIB. You will not have access to the Latin IIA course when you are in Latin IIB, so it is necessary for you to save your project on a personal drive.
- Students in Latin IIB: you are completing the project which you started in Latin IIA. You will need to carry on with the passion your selected in Latin IIA. (Please note: if you did not take Latin IIA with GAVS, you will need to contact your instructor immediately to receive a country and determine how you will approach this project).
