Terra Cotta Warriors

Just outside Xian, China (Shaanxi Province) is one of the world's most amazing archeological discoveries: thousands of buried life-sized sculptures of warriors, soldiers, nobles, and horses.

Somber, powerful, magnificent. 6000 life-size sculptures, each one unique, modeled after an actual person 2200 years old. And they're still digging.

The tomb was sealed and then forgotten...and re-discovered accidentally by a farmer in 1974.
