Games and Medicine Review
Now that you have completed the initial assessments for this module, review the lesson material with the practice activities and extra resources.
To attend a birthday party you could say "生日快乐" and bring your gifts. In China, we don't open gifts as soon as we receive them. Instead, we prefer to open after the guests leave. To celebrate one's birthday, we usually have a birthday cake, but for elder people, we will also have noodles called "cháng shòu miàn 长寿面" (in which 长寿means long life) to wish good health and long life. To you show your concerns about someone's illness, you could ask " nǐ zěn me le? 你怎么了?" and to give advice about taking medicines you could say "Jì dé zhōng yào bù néng fàn qián chī. Yí cì yí lì, yì tiān sān cì.记得中药不能饭前吃。一次一粒,一天三次".
If you are not so familiar with these sayings and words/sentences, you can repeat them several times from the content area until you feel very comfortable and confident. Remember, you need to understand both pinyin (pronunciations) and appropriate Chinese expressions in Chinese characters. Thank you for your hard work in this course.
