Time and Introductions

Introduction 

This module will tell you how to ask the time using"现在几点？xiàn zài jǐ diǎn?" and several ways to answer it.  Such as"差五分十点chà wǔ fēn shí diǎn ""两点半liǎng diǎn bàn """四点一刻sì diǎn yí kè ". When you want to introduce someone, you could say"我来介绍一下……..Wǒ lái jiè shào yí xià..." which means "Let me introduce...". You can also learn to express the places you have been to by the pattern "我去过……。wǒ qù guò "  What's more, you will know how to say "我最喜欢wǒ zuì xǐ huān ",  which means" I like……best".

Essential Questions

• How do you ask and tell time?
• How do you express the polite forms to make inquiries?
• How do you ask and tell if someone is free?
• How do you introduce A and B to each other?
• How do you express that you like something best?

To ask time in Chinese, you may say"请问现在几点？Qǐng wèn xiàn zài jǐ diǎn ？".In a more polite way, you can say "不好意思，麻烦问一下现在几点？Bù hǎo yì si ，má fan wèn yí xià xiàn zài jǐ diǎn?" . When you want to ask if someone is free tomorrow, you can say"请问，您明天有时间吗？Qǐng wèn ，nín míng tiān yǒu shí jiān ma ？". The proper answer could be "Yǒu shí jiān.有时间。" or "对不起，我没时间。Duì bù qǐ ，wǒ méi shí jiān." To introduce A and B, you may start with "我来介绍一下。Wǒ lái jiè shào yí xià.".
