Essential Questions
- How do you ask and tell someone's age?
- How do you inquire for someone or something you don't know?
- How do you make suggestions or inquire about someone's opinion?
- How do you express your opinion about someone's appearance?
- How do you ask and express someone's favorite sport?
In China, asking someone's age is not offensive. You may say "Nǐ jǐ suì你几岁" to a kid, or "Nǐ duō dà你多大" to someone your age, or "Nín duō dà nián ji ?您多大年纪?" to an elder person. If you want to identify someone, you could ask " nà wèi shì shuí ?那位是谁?". The proper way to express your opinion about someone's appearance is "Tā hěn shuài 他很帅" or "tā hěn piào liang. 她很漂亮" .
