How would you describe yourself in German? How would you describe your friends? How would you describe yourself or another person's personality? Can you name some German companies that are internationally known? At the end of this unit, you will be able to describe people in German as well as be able to tell a little about some of the most famous German companies, including what they make, where they are headquartered and what their connections to America are. You will also become a master in the identification and use of the three major Cases in German grammar and how they affect adjectives and nouns. You will be able to describe individuals including yourself using key vocabulary learned in this unit.

  • What are some of the most successful German companies?
  • How are possessive pronouns used in the Nominative Case?
  • How do I identify what case a noun is in German?
  • How do I decline adjectives in the various cases in German?

Goal Statement

You will learn the key vocabulary related to describing a person's physical appearance in German. You will also learn vocabulary necessary to describing a person's personality in German. You will then learn more about some of Germany's most successful and famous international companies. You will then learn how to identify the three major cases in German and be able to determine which case a noun is in. Next, you will learn how to decline adjectives in each of the three major German cases. You will also learn how to use the possessive pronouns in the subject case. Finally, you will use what you have learned to describe yourself and your friends in German.
