Grading Breakdown

Since the focus of this course is to apply life-long healthy practices, grades will be weighted towards documented  physical activity and measured improvement in personal health-related fitness levels. The following scale will be used:

Major Grades (Fitness Logs): (50%)
Minor Grades (Assignments, Quizzes, and Discussions) - 30%
Final Exam 20%

Throughout this course, please be sure to look for any comments the instructor has posted about particular grades. If you missed one or more points on a particular grade, the instructor's comments will explain why points were lost or things were missed.

Grades are important and we want you to understand them

Your grade in personal fitness is made up of categories that carry different weights. The major grade categories carry the most weight (50%), and your workouts (fitness logs) are worth half of your grade. All of your assignments, quizzes, and discussions (minor grades) make up 30% of your grade, and your final exam at the end of the course is worth 20% as well. Feedback is provided by your instructor to help answer questions about your grade and any material you don’t understand.
