🎯 Introduction to Your Capstone Project

Introduction to Your Capstone Project
A Capstone Project is an Inquiry-Based Student Interest, multi-step Project-Based Learning, or Real-World Solution Project. Your course will have one Capstone project, with several checkpoints. See the instructions below for the Capstone project and pay close attention throughout the course to each checkpoint.
Capstone Project for Seeking to Amend the U.S. Constitution
In this course you will learn about Article V of the United States Constitution and the amendment process. You will also learn how this process was used to make changes to the Constitution. The Capstone project will give you the opportunity to experience the process as you work on a plan for adding a new amendment to the United States Constitution.
- Can you think of a right or freedom that needs to be protected in the United States?
- Is there a new power or a limit on a power that needs to be added to the Constitution?
- Or is there a function of the Constitution that needs to be revised?
Your final product will include seven parts that you will research, analyze, put together, and create during this course.
- Part 1: Draft of Proposed Amendment
- Part 2: Impact from Key Factors of Change
- Part 3: Path for Amendment
- Part 4: Building a Coalition
- Part 5: Persuasive Pitch for the Proposed Amendment
- Part 6 Marketing Campaign
- Part 7: Works Cited Page

✅Checkpoint 1⭐️Background of Process and Change to the Constitution Discussion
Before you begin planning your amendment proposal, you will spend time reviewing information on amendments, ways to amend the Constitution, and hurdles in the process. Once this task is complete, you will participate in the
Background of Process and Change to the Constitution Discussion.
✅Checkpoint 2 ⭐️Research and Learning for Project Proposal
You will submit a one to two sentence amendment proposal statement. You will discuss the impact of key factors on your choice and how these key factors make your proposed amendment a valuable addition to the United States Constitution. You will describe issues that exist to prompt you toward this proposal and the purpose of your proposed amendment. You will also submit the source citations from your research.
✅Checkpoint 3⭐️Plan Project to Showcase
You will submit a pitch for the type of format you will use for your project and how you plan to present your information. This should be at least a paragraph with a convincing reason your format selection will produce the best capstone possible. You may need to reference specifics of your parts 4-6 (building a coalition, persuasive pitch, and marketing campaign to make your point.) Also, include an outline of the 7 parts for your capstone.
Some format suggestions are a Podcast Series, Ted Talk Video, Pecha Kucha Presentation, Marketing Campaign, Interview with Real World Experts, or a Proposal to Solve a Problem, Music Video (w. intelligently written lyrics), Illustrated Comic Book (IPAD), Movie Maker, Commercial, Digital story, your version of Crash Course, but you may think of something different.
✅Checkpoint 4⭐️ Produce a Project to Showcase
Produce a Project to Showcase: Your product could be a Podcast Series, Ted Talk Video, Pecha Kucha Presentation, Marketing Campaign, Interview with Real World Experts, or a Proposal to Solve a Problem, Music Video (w. intelligently written lyrics), Illustrated Comic Book (IPAD), Movie Maker, Commercial, Digital story, your version of Crash Course, etc. You have a multitude of options; pick one that plays to your strengths.
Use your knowledge to create a factually accurate, creative, visually, or audibly appealing, source-based final capstone project. Your final project should have a Word file, seven or more identifiable parts/sections, and a Work Cited page at the end.
✅Checkpoint 5 ⭐️ Share and Reflect
You will share your project and reflect on the findings or research within the Discussion board. Please ask a probing question about the project/research of at least two classmates to receive full credit for this portion of the project. Also, you will need to thoughtfully respond to questions your fellow classmates posed about your project.
