Agent Marker

The agent marker is added to a number of verbs to indicate a person who performs the action of a verb. It is also the sign for person. You add an agent marker to TEACH to make it TEACHER. You add an agent marker to MUSIC to make it MUSICIAN. 

This sign is often referred to as the "-er" sign, but it can also mean -ist (artist), -or (actor),  or -an (musician).
