Famous Deaf Athletes

William "Dummy" Hoy - A Major League Baseball player in the late 1800's.  He is often credited with the invention of the hand signals (Strike, Out, Safe) in ASL. 

Kitty O'Neil - Hollywood stunt woman and race car driver - She did most of her work in the 1970s.

Curtis Pride - A Major League Baseball player - He played for several teams, including the Atlanta Braves in 1998. 

Derek Coleman - Football player - He played in the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014.
