Explore Watercolor Techniques

Since you will be creating a watercolor collage in a variety of values, colors, and textures, it is important to investigate the different ways you can alter and apply watercolor. In this tutorial video below, you will be given instructions on how to set up your journal pages for experimenting with watercolor to make a variety of techniques that will alter the watercolor in value, intensity, and texture.

You will work in your journal to create your own techniques. Please feel free to pause the presentation to allow things to dry.

You will need the following supplies:

  • From Your Kit:  journal, watercolor set, paintbrush, pencil, eraser
  • Around Your Home: glue, sticky note or ruler, salt, rubbing alcohol, paper towels or napkins, water container, water
