Adding Water Glass Shapes to Create an Outline Contour

Filling Out The Gesture Drawing

Now that you understand how to create the line of motion and add the torso shapes, you need to learn a cool tip that comes from comic book artists - water glasses. Visualizing our arms and legs as a set of water glasses stacked on our skeleton is a great way to draw the human figure.

Please watch the presentation below to learn more about how to add water glass shapes to create an outline contour. Be sure your volume is turned on!

Gesture Practice

This is the last practice you will complete before you submit your gesture practice drawings. If you have not taken a quality photo of your five gesture with lines of motion and torso shapes, do so before you complete this page's gesture practice.

Using those five gestures with lines of motion and torso shapes, add water glass shapes and then complete the gestures in black pen. Make sure you use the same reference photos. You will submit these drawings on the next page.

Complete Your Gestures!

IMPORTANT! Did you take a quality photo of your five gestures with Line of Motion and torso shapes?? If not, do not move on to these directions until you do.
