Line of Motion and Torso Shapes

Gestures With Human Figures

To apply the loose scribble gestures to a human figure, you have think about the skeleton and how that is visible when you look at a human figure. For your next practice, you will focus on expressing the skeletal structure through a line of motion.

Please watch the presentation below to learn more about line of motion and torso shapes. Be sure your volume is turned on!

Since you need to practice gestures using a timer, click here for an assortment of YouTube Timers. These are great because they allow you to listen to the music as it counts down the time. Using a timer is a good practice because it lets you become faster at gesture so that eventually you can do gesture drawing from live models.
