POS - Shadow Perspective (Lesson)
Shadow Perspective
In 1492, Leonardo da Vinci studied shadows and their perspective. From his journals, it is clear that shadows follow a 1-PT perspective and the light source acts as the vanishing point.

The light source helps to create the highlight, the terminator on the object, and the cast shadow. This even helps to establish the hierarchy of the cast shadow from the occlusion shadow, the light reflection in the shadow, and the edges.
