IOP - Dwarf Planets LESSON
Dwarf Planets
Our solar system also has dwarf planets. These are celestial bodies resembling a small planet but lacking certain criteria that are required for it to be classified as a planet. For instance, Pluto used be classified as a normal planet in our solar system. However, it has been reclassified as a dwarf planet due to its size and orbital characteristics. Most planets orbit the Sun in an almost circle path with the Sun in the center. Pluto orbits the Sun on a tilted path and in an obliged oval. Pluto does have moons although very small.
