Night Sky and other Observations

Have you ever seen a shooting star skim across the night sky? Well technically it was not a star! What appears to be a star is really just a "falling object" as it burns up in the Earth's atmosphere. These objects can range from meteors or space junk. Some meteors make it through the atmosphere and crash into Earth's surface. They are then called meteorites and form craters on the surface.
Below are some examples of craters on Earth's surface that were caused by impacts from meteorites:
