Although we live on the surface of our planet, it is important for us to understand how our Earth's composition has influenced and continues to influence human life. Watch the video.

Let's review some of the main ideas discussed thus far in the activity below.

Map Activity

For our first map activity, you will label the continents, oceans, and mountain ranges. Click here for a Map to fill in. Links to an external site.

Your map should include:

  • Continents: North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Antarctica.
  • Oceans: Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, and Arctic. (Traditionally there have been 4 Oceans, however in recent years some geographers have split off a 5th Ocean called the Southern Ocean located above Antarctica.)
  • Mountain Ranges: Rockies, Andes, Himalayas, Hindu Kush, Alps, Caucus, and Atlas.
