Virtual Visit - Colonial Williamsburg

Photographs of buildings from Colonial Williamsburg

What if you could jump in a time machine and be transported back to 18th Century Colonial Virginia and interact with aristocrats, shopkeepers, and slaves? You may not be able to get in a time machine, but you can visit Colonial Williamsburg. Williamsburg is the restored colonial capital and features costumed interpreters that show what life was like during this time. While other historical sites feature restored buildings and living history actors, the scale of Colonial Williamsburg is immense. The site is over 300 acres and contains hundreds of buildings.

Stand in the House of Burgesses. View the splendor of the Governor's Place. Sample Colonial fare in a tavern. These are all activities that you can participate in. If you have never had the opportunity to visit Williamsburg in person, you can take this virtual visit. The interactive map is extensive and you can click on the various locations revealing information, pictures, and even videos about this historical site.
