Stem-Changing Verbs

Stem changing verbs are also known as boot/shoe verbs. Below is an example of the concept of shoe verbs. The image to the right is a visual representation of why this is called a shoe verb - note the pattern of forms that change their stem.

The same verb is written out in the chart below. The parts of the chart highlighted in grey demonstrate the stem vowel change:

dormir (o->ue)
SINGULAR PLURAL
duermo dormimos
duermes dormís
duerme duermen
