Gustar and Similar Verbs
For the verb gustar and verbs like gustar (the ones in this activity) you will only use the él, ella, Usted (Ud.) form or the ellos, ellas, Ustedes (Uds.) form. They are used differently. The word that follows the form of the verb usually determines which of the two forms you use.
Examples
- Followed by one or more infinitives:
- A Elena le gusta cantar mucho.
- A Elena le gusta cantar, bailar, y comer.
- Followed by a singular noun:
- A Elena le gusta el pollo.
- A mí me gusta el pan.
- Followed by a plural noun OR two or more singular nouns using and:
- A él le gustan las papas fritas.
- A nosotros nos gustan el béisbol y el fútbol.
