IBWN - InBetween Years. Module Overview
InBetween Years.
Introduction
The optimism at the turn of the century gave way, by the 1920's, to a general sense of disillusionment. The catastrophic devastation of World War I impacted every aspect of life in the years that followed. Art and culture took on a surreal approach as artists struggled to find meaning in what many now saw as a senseless world. Unsatisfied with the terms of the Treaty of Versailles and others, nations struggled to find their place in the post-war world - most turned to extremist groups for the answer. Economic depression only hastened this, helping pave the way for the rise of Fascism in Europe.
