WAC: Overview
Weather and Clothing
Weather affects our life daily, doesn't it? Because of the distinct seasonal changes and lifestyle, Japanese people pay very close attention to weather forecasts every day. When you have to walk or ride a bicycle to school or the nearest train station, it is important that you carry an umbrella or wear a raincoat when it is rainy, and that you wear extra layer of clothing when it is very cold. If you visit Japan, or live there, it will be important to you, too. So let's learn how to talk about weather, temperature, and clothing.
Essential Questions:
- Can you talk about weather and temperature?
- Can you name and describe clothing and accessories?
- Can you read and write in katakana タチツテトダヂヅデドハヒフヘホバビブベボ&パピプペポ?
- What are seasonal events in Japan?
- What are some of the traditional and modern Japanese clothing?
- Can you convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit, and vice versa?
