E-Commerce's Impact on Web Design
The Occupational Outlook Handbook projects that job opportunities for web designers will increase through 2030. The demand for this line of work is largely due to the rise of e-commerce (also referred to as electronic business and e-business). As businesses market their services and items to consumers in the future, mobile devices will be used to obtain information. The Pew Research Center published an article on April 7, 2021, indicating that 85% of Americans own a smartphone. Because of this fact, many consumers will use their smartphone to access business websites and make purchases. It is vital that web designers understand how to construct websites that are responsive.
Responsive Website Design
The concept behind responsive website design is constructing the website so it can be viewed appropriately on all computer devices. As a web designer, you will need to know how to apply HTML and CSS to shrink, enlarge, resize, hide, and move content to make it accessible for your target audience.
Web Design Reminders
You have learned a lot since the start of this course as it relates to designing websites using HTML 5. As you design websites that are responsive, do not forget the tips and guidelines we shared about browser compatibility, connection speeds, device and operating system issues, as well as download time. Many of the tips and guidelines were shared in the first half of the course. In case you are enrolled in the second half of the course, and do not have access to content in those modules, take note of the following reminders.
