The Story Behind CSS Lesson
History of CSS
You discovered in the previous module how HTML specifies a document's content and structure. You probably noticed that the markup language did not necessarily visually enhance the document. In order to create a document design, you will need to work in a different language. Several style sheet languages are available, but the language used by most web designers is the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) language. Like HTML, specifications for CSS are maintained by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and several versions of CSS exist with varying levels of browser support.
Access the History of CSS learning object below to obtain information about each version.
