ser, estar, and present progressive

Present Progressive

The present progressive tense combines the conjugated form of the verb "to be"(estar) and the present participle.  The present participle is basically the "ing" form of verbs.

  • I am eating in the restaurant.
  • Yo estoy comiendo en el restaurante.
  • She is speaking with her teacher.
  • Ella está hablando con su profesora.
