Comparisons/Superlatives

There are a few different types of comparisons in Spanish. There are comparisons of "equality" and comparisons of "inequality". We will also be covering "superlatives". Please click on the presentation below and then complete the practice activities. You can view the presentation as many times as you need.

COMPARISONS OF INEQUALITY

Here is the format or pattern for creating sentences where you say how things are different.

  • Más + noun/adj/adv + que (more ... than)
  • Menos + noun/adj/adv + que (less ...   than)

COMPARISONS OF EQUALITY

Here is the format or pattern for creating sentences where you say how things are the same.

  • Tanto/a/os/as + noun + como
  • Tan + adj/adv + como

SUPERLATIVES

Here is the format or pattern for creating sentences where you say how things are the most or least something

  • el/la + menos + adjective + de (least of)
  • el/la + más + adjective + de (most of)
    1. Mejor = best
    2. Peor = worst
    3. Mayor = oldest
    4. Menor = youngest
