This lesson introduces you to the "sounds" of Spanish. In the modules to come, you will be required to complete speaking assignments. Being able to speak Spanish correctly is an important part of language learning.

Click on the links below that will take you to excellent presentations of sounds in the Spanish language. Please listen and repeat after the speaker. Then, go back and listen and repeat again. The more times you do this, the more quickly you will assimilate the sound of Spanish. Remember where this link is as you continue in the course. Diacritical Marks

Diacritical marks such as accents are very important in Spanish. As you continue to learn the language, you will see how omitting accents can change the meaning of the word. Click on the links below to see more on the importance of using accents and how to make them on your computer. Take notes/print out the instructions as you will be required to use accents on all assignments in your Spanish course!
