Grammar Review - Particle -de and --u, -ru and Irregular Verbs
Please watch a short video explaining how to use particle -de. After watching the video, check your understanding by completing the Particle Practice activity.
Review the following particles and their functions:
- ga: indicating the subject of a sentence; used with question words and their answers (L. 43)
- Ex) Dore-ga ii desu-ka? [Which is good?]
- ni: indicating the time or occasion when an action or process occurs (L. 45)
- Ex) Fuyu-yasumi-ni nani-o shimashita-ka? [What did you do during the winter break?]
- o: indicating the direct object of a sentence (L. 45)
- Ex) Supagetii-o tabemashita. [I ate spaghetti.]
- ni: indicating the place or purpose of going, the direction of movement (L. 46)
- Ex) Ashita Nihon-ni ikimasu. [I will go to Japan tomorrow.]
- de: indicating the place where an action occurs (L. 47)
- Ex) Daigaku-de shigoto-o shimasu. [I will work at the college.]
