NAM: Overview
Naming Objects
Imagine that you are back in your kindergarten class. What do you see on the walls of the classroom? Pictures, charts, calendars, art work, and yes, labels. Labels are especially effective in learning new vocabulary. As you go through this module, you might want to try labeling things again, of course this time, in Japanese because you are going to learn how to identify different objects around you and how to ask the names of those objects. So get your Post-Its ready.
Essential Questions:
- How do you ask or identify objects?
- How do you ask what something is called in Japanese or in English?
- How do you ask if you can use a pen?
- What are onomatopoetic words?
- What are some ways to decline a request without offending?
- What are some of the facts about the capital city, Tokyo?
- What is it like to be in Japanese schools?
