School, Age and Grade
Now you successfully learned greeting procedures in Japanese, but wait, your new Japanese friends would like to know more about you. They want to know your age, school affiliations, and grade levels. So let's make sure in this module that you complete your perfect introduction by stating your age, grade levels, and school affiliation.
Essential Questions:
- How do you ask and state school or work affiliation?
- How do you ask and state grade levels and a person's age?
- What do you do if you do not understand what the other person says?
- Can you count 1 to 99 in Japanese?
- What are some of the age related holidays in Japan?

Goals
By the end of this module, for listening and speaking skills, you will be able to ask and state school and work affiliation, grade level, and one's age, and to express that you understand something or do not. You will also learn to use the numbers 1 to 99. For reading and writing skills, you will learn to read and write in hiragana がぎぐげご , さしすせそ and ざじずぜぞ . For cultural understanding, you will learn about seniority in organizations, age related holidays, kimono, and the old capital, Kyoto.
