IDS: Introduction

This unit is designed to familiarize you with the city. You will be introduced to the vocabulary related to various places in the city as well as the professions of people who work in the city. You will learn how to ask for and give directions in German using the appropriate grammatical structures. You will listen to other people describe their city and be able to describe your own in German. You will also be able to list the advantages and disadvantages of where you live and relate these to others in German.

- How do I identify city places in German?
- How do I give and understand directions in German?
- What types of people work in the city and where?
- Where do I go in the city to do various tasks?
- What are some advantages and disadvantages to living in the city?
- What are some advantages and disadvantages to living in the suburbs?
- How do I express my preferences when describing where I live?
