Sport und Freizeit - Sports and Freetime

Was machst du in deiner Freizeit? What do you do in your free-time?

In this module you will learn to express in German the activities you enjoy: sports, hobbies, games, etc. In addition, you will be introduced to the culture of Sport und Freizeit in German-speaking countries, and it's not just a culture of Fuβball (soccer) players, as is so often perceived. In fact, it may surprise you to learn that the most commonly practiced sport or Freizeit activity for the average German is not Fuβball, but Fahrradfahren, bike riding.  

Further points of emphasis in this module will include the following:

• Separable prefix verbs
• Additional stem changing verbs
• Vocabulary used to describe free time and leisure activities
• Expressions of like/dislike
• Sports terms
• Movie types
• Accusative prepositions and accusative case review

• What are the most popular sports in Germany?
• How do you discuss your favorite leisure time activities in German?
