Die Schule
What is it like to attend school in Germany? How do German schools and the German education system differ from what we know in America? This module will address these themes and provide a realistic portrait of education in Germany. In particular, we will focus on the following points:
- Vocabulary for school subjects, school rooms and places, and school supplies
- Adverbs of frequency - often, sometimes, every day, never, always
- Review time, days of the week, numbers
- Ordinal numbers 1st through 19th
- German vs. American school system
- Class schedules in German schools
- School subjects taught in German schools
Essential Questions:
- How might the experience of going to school in Germany be different from going to school in the US?
- How do you describe classroom supplies in German?
- How do you talk about your school, classes and course schedule in German?
