Les Adjectifs

You have already learned about adjectives in French 1. You will review what you already know and expand on your understanding of adjectives in French to know even more. Look at the French terms and spelling in simple sentences. Notice how the adjectives change spelling based on the gender of the subject.

Adjectives must agree with the noun that they describe in gender and number. In other words, if the noun that the adjective is describing is masculine, then the adjective must be masculine. The same is true for feminine, singular and plural nouns. Keep this in mind as you read and listen to the descriptions of the people on the following page.

For most adjectives you just have to add an (e) if it is feminine and an (s) if it is plural.
