Overview
In this module, we will examine the geography of France and how it compares to the community where you live. We will also explore national and personal identities to see what it means to be French and American.
In this module we will explore the topic of geography and identity in France to gain a comparative understanding of American identity. You will listen to and read many dialogues and texts in French to improve your command of French. You will also learn to:
- Talk about geography in France
- Tell the difference between a French department and region
- Use the expression il y a
- Identify and use prepositions
- Describe people and things using adjectives
- Form adverbs
- Compare people and things
- Use the French superlative
- Talk about the difference between nationalism and patriotism
- Improve your reading and listening comprehension in French

- How do I describe the geography of France?
- How do I compare the geography of France to the geography where I live?
- How are aspects of patriotism expressed in the United States and in France?
- How can I describe characteristics that individuals have outside of their national identity?
