RWU - Module Overview

Introduction

Any time you analyze literature, you use the same research process to find information in order to have enough support. When a researcher analyzes literature, he or she creates a literary criticism. Literary Criticism is when a researcher studies, evaluates, and interprets literature. This criticism, or analysis, allows insight into certain topics or ideas from a literary text that a writer wants to cover for a reader. Topics might include proving that a certain theme appears throughout the novel, that a certain character acts as a foil to another character, or that a certain style permeates a work of literature. Regardless of the chosen topic, just like any other research, a writer must include support from the research process. For your final project, you will be creating a literary criticism about the novel you have read through this course.
