FAD - Module Review Lesson
Review
Once it became clear that the Articles of Confederation were not going to work, the Founding Fathers went to work on developing a better plan for our government. They let the ideas of political thinkers from the Enlightenment influence them on the basic concepts of democracy that they would use for their new Constitution. Through compromise, they agreed on ideas such as limited government, separation of powers, and checks and balances for the foundation of this great document. The debate over federalism and the balance of power between the state and national governments has never ended. However, due to the strong framework of our Constitution, we unified as the United States of America.
