ML - Impact of Social Media on Health and Disease Lesson
Impact of Social Media on Health and Disease
Social media is extremely prevalent and relevant in our society today. Most people own cell phones and most of those cell phones are smart phones. Therefore, you can acquire information about anything at the press of a button no matter if you are on the school bus, on the subway, in the mall, getting your hair cut, or even taking out your trash. "Google It" is a common term you hear everyone saying from looking up the number to the dentist to seeing how far away Pluto is from the Earth.
However, is this always a good thing? It would be nice to say that everything on the Internet is true...like the current popular State Farm commercial states. But, we know that everything we read, especially on the Internet, is not always a good source. Moreover, how will this affect the impact of health and disease currently and in our future. While this seems pretty black and white to me, let's do a small activity to see what YOU think!
