APS - Changing the Problem (Lesson)
Changing the Problem
As we have seen in the previous exercise, algorithms are created by solving a problem. Problems require you to ask what you know about the situation, to restate the problem and examine the givens and how they relate and what you need to know.
Test Yourself!
Suppose a fence is to be built using long and short upright poles to hold the rails. Long poles are used at the corners and short poles hold up each length of rails.
The rails that connect the poles are 6 feet long. You want to build fence that is 24 feet long. How many long and short poles are needed to build the fence?
