Decimus is saddened to have to leave Pompeii, and especially to have to leave Flavia behind. But, an order is an order, so he carries out his orders and begins a journey to of the naval port Misenum. 

On his way out of Pompeii, Decimus passes by the Temple of Isis, an Egyptian goddess of love. Hoping the goddess will show him favor and allow him to see Flavia again, Decimus stops into the temple to make an offering.

As he does so, Decimus is startled by what appears to be a sign from the gods. He quickly departs from Pompeii and heads to Misenum. 

Once he arrives, Decimus reports directly to Admiral Pliny, providing an update on the progress made to the repaired aqueduct. Admiral Pliny must interrupt with the most severe news...
