Overview - Decimus' Journey
After Decimus' successful patrolling of the Via Appia, he receives a promotion: Decimus is now a faber - a military engineer. His next assignment comes from the naval admiral, Pliny. Admiral Pliny is stationed at the port of Misenum.
The water supply to Pompeii and other nearby cities along the coast has been disrupted. Decimus must help repair the aqueduct and restore the water supply to the baths in Pompeii and the naval base in Misenum. Help Decimus inspect, and eventually repair, the Aqua Augusta.

Key Terms
- Noun- A noun is traditionally defined as a person, place or thing. In Latin a noun is a word that uses a set of case endings and has three characteristics, case, number and gender.
- Preposition- a word which precedes a noun or pronoun and demonstrates the a relationship between two concepts in the sentence. Prepositions in Latin govern only two cases, accusative and ablative.
- Prepositional phrase- a preposition which includes an object
- Accusative case- case frequently used for direct objects, but may also be used with some prepositions to show motion towards something
- Ablative case- case frequently used for prepositions to show location, motion away from or separation from something, or an association with someone; also used to show the means with which something was done (no preposition)
- Aqueduct- a pathway of bridges and tunnels engineered to move water from one location to another
- Pompeii- Roman city in central Italy near Naples
- Misenum- ancient Roman port city located near Baiae, Pompeii, and Herculaneum
