(CT) Time, Change, and Continuity Lesson

Time, Change, and Continuity Lesson

Our final theme is time, change, and continuity. Over time, throughout history aspects of culture have changed; yet, some things have stayed the same. Think about your education. As time has gone by you have increased the complexity of what you are learning, but the subjects remain the same. Therefore, over a period of seven grades, you have gone from learning numbers to add, to multiplication, to algebra, but the basic concept is still mathematics and remains a constant presence in your life. Change over time is inevitable as society progresses, but we often have a harder time realizing some items continue over time as well.

Take Away

Time, Change, Continuity is a theme that is extremely relevant to your life. Whether you are talking about the changes over the past 20 years or the past 200 years, this theme truly focuses on trends that can be seen across time. As we move forward in our regions around the world try not to only focus on what has changed as these regions modernized, but also remember to look closely at what traits and characteristics have remained the same across time.
