Introduction

Your Financial Future Overview Image All countries are concerned with having a stable economy where the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services are utilized efficiently. In this module, we will further examine these basic principles of economics by investigating how countries utilize economic concepts. We will learn how different economies function, and you will look at your own personal income basics including: spending, credit, saving and investing. Some of the concepts we will learn about may be familiar to you. They include words like recession, business organizations, productivity, price, scarcity, unemployment and supply and demand, just to name a few!

 

Questions to consider as you study this module:

  • How is the production, distribution, and consumption of goods/services produced by a society directly affected by the location, customs, beliefs, and laws of the society?
  • What are ways to earn income as a teenager?
  • How will decisions you make now affect your ability to make money as an adult?
  • What factors can improve a person's income making potential?
  • Why do people use credit?

 

A Word About Math In order to finish the course, there are two additional standards that MUST be covered that are part of this module. Some of the information will have been covered in your math class, which is acceptable. Please take the time to review the information in each of these standards. Your module exam will include problems taken from each of these standards.

M6N1 . Students will understand the meaning of the four arithmetic operations as related to positive rational numbers and will use these concepts to solve problems.

M6D1. Students will pose questions, collect data, represent and analyze the data, and interpret results.
